Day 1 – Moncton, New Brunswick

(Mon) – Today will be a day of rest and relaxation as we greet fellow quilters as they arrive. We will all meet in the evening for a welcome dinner.

Day 2 – Show & Tell with Pattern Designer, Gerri Richards

(Tues) – To start the tour off right, we will visit our first quilt shop where we will have the opportunity to meet and chat with Pattern Designer, Gerri Richards of Cool Cat Creations, who will show us some of her current designs. Beautiful and inspiring, Gerri will start the creative juices flowing. We will then head out to lunch (own), at a very sweet place. As we head back to Moncton, we will stop at a covered bridge and our second quilt shop of the day. The evening will be yours to relax, and come up with ideas for all the beautiful fabrics you purchased.

Day 3 – Crossing in and Fabric Shopping on Prince Edward Island

(Wed) – Today we will leave Moncton, cross the 12-mile-long Confederation Bridge to a destination on Prince Edward Island. We will visit the well-loved and well known, Anne of Green Gables Heritage Place. Before heading to lunch, we will take time to stop and dip our toes in the vast Atlantic Ocean.  Very refreshing!  After lunch, we will visit our third quilt shop. So many goodies to see. Take the free evening to explore and/or relax in our hotel in Charlottetown.

Day 4 – Crossing the Northumberland Strait

(Thurs) – Rise and shine for an early start as we take the Wood Island ferry, crossing the Northumberland Strait to Caribou/Pictou. We will go on a scenic drive to Baddeck on Cape Breton Island. Once there, you will visit the Alexander Graham Bell National Historical Site in Baddeck and complete the day with a full lobster dinner.

Day 5 – Baddeck & Sydney, Cape Breton

(Fri) – Our shop hop continues as we head north east toward Sydney. While there, you will have the opportunity to drop in, visit and tour the Cape Breton Craft and Design Centre. Explore Sydney, take a group photo at the World’s Largest Fiddle before we head off to our fourth quilt shop. We will head back to Baddeck for an evening dinner.

Day 6 – Baddeck, Cape Breton (Cabot Trail & Cape Breton Highlands)

(Sat) – Today we will set off to tour of the famous Cabot Trail with magnificent coastal views from which we will ascend into Cape Breton Highlands National Park. Lots of photo opportunities. Along the way you will visit Flora’s at Cheticamp, an area well known for rug hooking, crafts, and souvenirs.

Day 7 – Baa Baa Black Sheep

(Sun) – Another scenic drive with a couple of stops, at two very fun but different places. The Lismore Sheep Farm and the Museum of Industry before heading onto the picturesque fishing village of Peggy’s Cove. Peggy’s Cove may well be the most photographed location in Canada. In the morning, we will visit Lismore’s working sheep farm that produces beautiful fleece you may wish to purchase on the farm. Take time to say hello to the wool producing sheep. We will continue for a guided tour of the Museum of Industry which tells the story of the journey through Nova Scotia’s past of work and workers and the importance of quilters during this time. Our journey to Chester, Nova Scotia is where we will stay for the next couple of days.

Day 8 – Chester, Nova Scotia (Mahone Bay and Lunenburg)

(Mon) – Travel to and spend half a day and lunch in the quaint Mahone Bay Village. In the afternoon, we will travel south only a few minutes away to Lunenburg. Mahone Bay well known for the three churches and Lunenburg as the home of the Bluenose, not to mention all the wonderful shops to explore. On our way back to our hotel we will make a stop at another quilt shop. Our fifth! Oh my!  After a busy day, with lots of walking, it will be nice to head back to hotel for a relaxing evening.

Day 9 – Chester, Nova Scotia to Moncton, New Brunswick 

(Tues) – Today we will be leaving beautiful Nova Scotia and be heading back towards New Brunswick but not without concluding our tour with a few more stops. Quilt shop 6 & 7. The trip would not be complete without a Farewell Dinner, where we can talk and laugh about our adventures with new friends.
