Dating back to 1608, with its narrow cobblestone streets and stone buildings lined with bistros and boutiques, it is time to visit the romantic and historical city: Quebec City.  Ride the Funicular joining the upper & lower town, with the famous Chateau Frontenac Hotel towering over the city.  Along our route, we will visit quilt shops and finish the tour at Quilt Canada in Toronto.

Day 1 – Arrival Day The Excitement Starts –  Bonjour!

(Wed June 11) – Quilters from near and far will arrive at our meeting place.
If you are flying or driving to join our tour, we have a room secured at the hotel included in our package. 

Stay overnight in Toronto, Ontario.

Day 2 – Let the Fun begin!  

(Thurs June 12) – Today, we hit the ground running. After breakfast, we will visit quilt shops on our way to beautiful and historic Quebec City, with a lunch stop at the Big Apple. Once at our overnight destination, we will all meet for a welcome dinner in the evening.  A great way to get to know our fellow quilt travelers.

Day 3 – English & French Borders

(Fri June 13) – This morning, after a delicious breakfast, we will head to Upper Canda Village, one of Canada’s largest living history sites. With over 40 buildings, the place will transport you back to before 1860.  As we leave Ontario, we will stop for a quick lunch along the way. After crossing the Ontario-Quebec border, we will visit Moulin a Laine D’Ulverton. Dating from 1840, this wool mill is a heritage building containing architectural features specific to that era’s wood and stone construction. The mill comes back to life with the recreation of what it would have been like to work in a workshop where oils, sweat and hard manual labour would come together.

Day 4 – Historical and Beautiful Quebec City

(Sat June 14) – Today is yours to discover. After a guided tour of the old city, you will have the rest of the day to explore, shop, and feast.  Lots of picture-taking opportunities. Ride the funicular and remember to visit inside the Chateau Frontenac Hotel. Imagine how gorgeous and prestigious the people and the gowns would have been.

Day 5 – Montmorency Falls & St. Anne de Beaupre Shrine

(Sun June 15) – A must-visit while in Quebec is to Montmorency Falls. A full 30 m (98.4′) higher than Niagara Falls, you can cross the suspended bridge to feel the river’s power as it thunders beneath you. After a spectacular view from the top of Ile d’Orleans and the St. Lawrence River, we will head to St. Anne de Beaupre Shrine.  A special place for prayers and miracles. After our guided tour, we will travel across the island for lunch at the Sugar Shack (Le Relais des Pins – Cabane à sucre). It is a place where you can enjoy a traditional Quebec meal, trying maple ham, maple syrup, maple tea, and maple taffy. Delicious for any sweet tooth. After lunch, we will return to Quebec City, where you will have more time to explore.

Day 6 – Montreal Botanical Gardens

(Mon June 16) – Our day starts with a scenic drive from Quebec City to the Montreal Botanical Gardens, stopping along the way for a quick break. Montreal Botanical Gardens is recognized as one of the world’s finest and a true living museum. Founded in 1931, there are over 20 themed gardens. We will take our time to explore before heading to the quaint town of Perth for our next 2-night stay.

Day 7 – A Day in Perth

(Tues June 17) – There is so much to see and do in the beautiful town of Perth. We will have a chance to shop at two quilt shops. One is in town and the other is just on the outside. The first place to check out is the museum and visitor centre, where you can grab a map of the town and talk to some very proud and knowledgeable staff. There are many restaurants to choose from, and be sure to see the tribute statue of Big Ben, the world champion show jumping horse that many thought was too big to fly. One of two horses to be inducted into Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame. The day is yours with lots of free time to enjoy, explore, and relax.

Day 8 – Time to Cruise

(Wed June 18) – Today, we will enjoy our time on the water. We will cruise the beautiful area of the Thousand Islands, hear the spectacular love story of Boldt Castle, and see the smallest international bridge to name a few. Afterward, we will make a stop for lunch and should time permit a stop at a quilt shop before we continue to our hotel where we will rest up for our next busy day at Quilt Canada.

Day 9 – Quilt Canada – Toronto International Centre

(Thurs June 19) – Lots of excitement today as we visit Quilt Canada. This traveling show is the largest in Canada and we are sure you will find lots of goodies and ideas to create. You will have the entire day at the show to marvel at the construction of beautiful quilts, discuss the prize winners, and let us not forget about the marketplace. So much fun. We will end our day with a great farewell dinner. Never a goodbye but see you later, till next time or tour.

Day 10 – Say Goodbye!

(Fri June 20) – After a fabulous 10 days, it will be time to share breakfast one last time before we leave to return home and tell others of our fun adventures. If you wish to stay another day at the show or continue taking classes (not included), we can secure you a room for an extra night (not included). Just let us know, and we will arrange the room for you.
