Day 1 – Cross Border & Excitement!
(Fri Sept 12th) – Whether you have driven across the province or local to meet us or arrived by air, we will pick everyone up at one location and head west to Sarnia, where we will cross the border to begin our adventure. Excitement will mount as we make our way to our very first quilt shop on the tour, Quilts at the Marshall House. A definite favourite. Once we arrive at our hotel for the night, we will gather for an Amish Welcome Dinner.

Day 2 – Shop the Village – More Fabric
(Sat Sept 13th) – This morning we will spend time in the small shopping village behind our hotel. You will never guess what is there. A Quilt Shop! After buying our lunch at the bakery, we will board the bus and journey across to Naperville but we will first stop at another quilt shop, Top Shelf Quilts. 7,000 square ft with over 4,000 bolts. A quilter’s dream.

Day 3 – Historic Towns of the Amana Colonies
(Sun Sept 14th) – Today we set out for the Amana Colonies. We will make a lunch stop along the way. Once we have arrived, a knowledgeable local guide will board our bus to show you the most important historic sites. You’ll learn about their communal life before 1932, including the gardens, agriculture, religion, and way of communal living. The history of Amana Colonies, a National Historic Landmark and one of America’s longest-lived communal societies, began in 1714 in the villages of Germany and continues today on the Iowa prairie. This evening, we will have a group dinner and relax at our hotel which used to be a mill. We will be here for two nights.

Day 4 – More of the Amana Colonies
(Mon Sept 15th) – After our morning breakfast, we will walk over to a beautiful quilt shop, Heritage Designs located in the Historic Amana Colonies. We will visit and shop there first and then you will have the rest of the day to explore. Be sure to visit the General Store and the Chocolate Haus. Sweet and delicious.

Day 5 – Iowa, Here we come
(Tues Sept 16th) – Our day starts with a scenic drive across Iowa and onto Winterset where we will visit the Iowa Quilt Museum. With new exhibits that change four times a year, there will be beautiful quilts for us to see. After the museum, in the same town, just a few doors down, we will pop into Piece Works Quilt Shop. A store that was chosen to be in the Quilt Sampler magazine. Beautiful! We will spend some extra time in Winterset for you to browse around before heading to our hotel where we will relax for the next three nights.

Day 6 – Day 1 at the Missouri Star Birthday Bash
(Wed Sept 17th) – We have made it to Missouri Star, The Disneyland of Quilting. Birthday Bash. Here we come. Let the fun begin! There will be lots of games, prizes and giveaways. Take your time to look and plan. You will have all day. (Trunk show, TBD)

Day 7 – Day 2 in Hamilton Missouri
(Thurs Sept 18th) – Today you will have another full day in Hamilton, Missouri where Missouri Star calls home. We will visit the Quilt Museum and have many photo opportunities of the murals, the largest spool of thread, and our new friends. So much fun for everyone. It is time to grab all the items you did not get the day before.

Day 8 – Life and Times of Huckleberry Finn
(Fri Sept 19th) – It is time to move on. Today after breakfast, we will head to Hannibal, Missouri, the home of Mark Twain and his fictional characters Huckleberry Finn and Jim, who set off along the Mississippi River. While in Hannibal, we will visit a quilt shop called Hickory Sticks and take a riverboat ride on the famous Mississippi River. After a busy day, it will be nice to head to our hotel for a relaxing evening.

Day 9 – Time to Head Home
(Sat Sept 20th) – As we start our journey north to home, we will make a stop at our very last quilt shop. Bolines LLC. This is a warehouse of fabulous fabrics. Oh boy! All of the patterns are designed by Rebecca Boline and are not available wholesale to other shops or distributors. They are unique. Some are humorous and whimsical but all are easy and fast. Once we have had our final fabric frenzy, we will stop for lunch and stay one more night in the United States. This evening, we will enjoy our time and meal at our farewell dinner.

Day 10 – See you later, not goodbye.
(Sun Sept 21st) – After a fabulous 10 days, we will have made it back across the border with all our new fabric finds and memories. Arriving at the hotel or drop-off point late afternoon.
