Day 1 – Welcome, Everyone

(Thurs Sept 25) – Today will be a day of rest and relaxation as we greet fellow quilters as they arrive. We will all meet in the evening for a welcome dinner.

Day 2 – Let the Shop Hop Begin!

(Fri Sept 26) – Welcome to our delightful tour, where we’ll begin by exploring Quilt shop #1 filled with inspiration and motivation through the vast colours and designs. Before arriving at Quilt shop #2 we will make a stop for some lunch and baked goods along the way. It’s a perfect day to start our journey of creativity and connection!

Day 3 – A cozy fabric day  

(Sat Sept 27) – Today, we will begin our journey with a trip to two delightful and charming quilt shops, where we will marvel at the beautiful fabrics and intricate designs. We will enjoy a cozy lunch at Anna Mae’s Amish Bakery & Restaurant, savouring homemade dishes that will leave us feeling full and content—a perfect combination of creativity and comfort.

Day 4 – Manitoulin Island

(Sun Sept 28) – This morning, we will enjoy a leisurely start to our day before we head out to take the scenic ferry ride to Manitoulin Island, enjoying the fresh air and breathtaking views of the fall colours reflecting off the water.  Upon arrival, we will head straight to Quilt Shop #5, where we will be greeted by a fantastic selection of fabrics and quilting supplies. The shop is a cozy haven for quilters, and we will spend a couple of hours browsing through its unique offerings, inspired by the local charm and creativity. What a peaceful and inspiring start to our day on the island.

Day 5 – Ojibwe history and traditions

(Mon Sept 29) – First stop of the day will be visiting the Ojibwe Cultural Foundation, which offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the rich history and traditions of the Ojibwe people. After exploring the cultural exhibits and learning about their heritage, we will start our journey to the Sault Ste. Marie, on route we will make a stop for lunch at Dean Lake, where you can enjoy the serene surroundings. Finally, we will wrap up our day with a visit to Quilt Shop #6 in Sault Ste. Marie.

Day 6 – Choo Choo all aboard!

(Tues Sept 30) – Today we will be spending the day on the Agawa Canyon Train! This is an unforgettable experience, offering a scenic ride through Ontario’s stunning wilderness. As the train travels through dense forests, past shimmering lakes, and over impressive trestle bridges, you’re treated to breathtaking views of the rugged Canadian landscape. The highlight of the journey is a stop at Agawa Canyon, where you can take in the beauty of cascading waterfalls and vibrant nature. It’s a peaceful, immersive way to connect with the natural world and spark creativity for future projects.

Day 7 – A Nickel for your thoughts!

(Wed Oct 1) – Today’s journey will take us to Sudbury, which offers a perfect blend of adventure and discovery. Start with a visit to Quilt Shop #7, where you can explore a wide selection of fabrics and quilting supplies. Afterward, head to the iconic Big Nickel, a must-see landmark, where you can take in the impressive sight and snap a few photos. Rounding out our stop in Sudbury, we will explore the Dynamic Earth Museum, including a bus tour underground. Finally, we will wrap up our day with a stop at Quilt Shop #8, which is known for its beautiful quilts and unique finds. It’s a wonderful mix of local charm, history, and creativity!

Day 8 – Off to Muskoka!

(Thurs Oct 2) – Embark on a charming wagon ride through the picturesque Muskoka Lake Farm & Winery, where you’ll tour the scenic grounds and learn about the local winemaking process and Harvest season of Cranberries. Afterward, we will enjoy a delightful wine tasting, savoring the flavors of the region. Our day continues with a visit to Quilt Shop # 9, a cozy haven filled with beautiful fabrics and quilting treasures. Finally, after a full day of exploration, we will check into our hotel in Collingwood, ready to relax and reflect on a perfect day in Muskoka.

Day 9 – One Last Hooray!

(Fri Oct 3) – On the final day of our tour, we visit a charming quilt shop, offering unique fabrics and quilting inspiration. At Quilt Shop #10 we learn valuable techniques and share creative ideas. After a day filled with stitching and shopping, we gather for our farewell dinner, reflecting on the wonderful experiences, new friendships, and memories made throughout the tour. It’s the perfect end to a beautiful quilting adventure.

Day 10 – See you again soon!

(Sat Oct 4) – As we say our goodbyes, we will leave Toronto to return home to tell others of our new friends and fun adventures.
