Day 1 – Moncton, New Brunswick

(Thurs) – Today will be a day of rest and relaxation as we greet fellow quilters as they arrive. We will all meet in the evening for a welcome dinner.

Day 2 – Moncton, New Brunswick

(Fri) – Off we go!  Leaving Moncton behind, we will head to our first quilt shop just on the other side of the 12 mile long Confederation Bridge, leading to all our destinations on Prince Edward Island. We will have a lovely lunch stop at a beautiful restaurant, then onto to visit the well loved and well known, Anne of Green Gables, Heritage Place. Take the free evening to explore and/or relax in our hotel in Charlottetown.

Day 3 – Fabric and Free Time, Charlottetown, PEI

(Sat) – This morning we will head to one our favourite quilt shops. Once we arrive back from our adventure, the rest of the day is yours to explore.

Day 4 – Charlottetown, PEI to Baddeck, Cape Breton

(Sun) – Rise and shine for an early start as we take the Wood Island ferry, crossing the Northumberland Strait to Caribou/Pictou We will go on a scenic drive to Baddeck, on Cape Breton Island. Once there, you will visit the Alexander Graham Bell National Historical Site in Baddeck and complete the day with a full lobster dinner.

Day 5 – Baddeck, Cape Breton

(Mon) – Our journey continues as we head north east towards Sydney. While there, you will have the opportunity to drop in and visit the Cape Breton Craft and Design Centre and visit another popular and friendly quilt shop on the island. We will then head back to Baddeck for some relaxation, some show and tell and your evening dinner.

Day 6 – Baddeck, Cape Breton (Cabot Trail & Cape Breton Highlands)

(Tues) – Today, we will set off to tour the famous Cabot Trail with magnificent coastal views from which we will ascend into Cape Breton Highlands National Park. Along the way, we will stop for lunch and a few photo opportunities.  We will also make a stop at Flora’s Gifts in Cheticamp, an area well known for rug hooking and crafts.

Day 7 – Baddeck, Cape Breton to Halifax, Nova Scotia

(Wed) – Another scenic drive, with a couple of stops at two very acclaimed and fun places. The Museum of Industry and Lismore’s Sheep Farm. At the Museum of Industry, we will be shown Nova Scotia’s rich and varied industrial history of which women and quilters played a big part. Women did much of the work in the woolen and cotton mills as well as working in the home, dealing with life’s hardships and joys. Our stop at the Lismore’s Sheep Farm will be a totally different experience. A visit with the live animals and the beautiful location where finished wool products are sold in the quaint shop, is ideal before we head into the busy city of Halifax.

Day 8 – Quilt Canada, Halifax

(Thurs) – We are here! As our hotel is located right next door to the Convention Centre, a very short walk and we will enter wide eyed and excited to see all the quilting creations and shop the marketplace. You can even return to the hotel, drop off your treasures and return for more. You will have a full day at Quilt Canada to come and go as you please.

Day 9 – Quilt Canada & Peggy’s Cove

 (Fri) – In case, you felt like being inspired again by Quilt Canada or you would like some free time to wander the Halifax waterfront, the morning is yours to do what you would like. After your lunch, we will head onto the village of Peggy’s Cove. Peggy’s Cove may well be the most photographed location in Canada and is a beautiful quaint fishing village along the South Shore of Nova Scotia. After our exploration, we will continue our journey to Chester, Nova Scotia, where we will stay for the next couple of days.

Day 10 – Chester, Nova Scotia (Mahone Bay and Lunenburg)

(Sat) – Travel to and spend half a day and lunch in the quaint Mahone Bay Village. Home of the three churches. In the afternoon, we will travel south only a few minutes away to Lunenburg and wander the old town, with its colourful buildings and magnificent waterfront. Home of the Bluenose. If there is time, we may make one more special stop. After a busy day with lots of walking, it will be nice to head back to hotel for a relaxing evening.

Day 11 – Chester, Nova Scotia to Moncton, New Brunswick 

(Sun) – Today we will be leaving beautiful Nova Scotia and be heading back towards Moncton but not without concluding our tour with a few more quilt shop stops. The trip would also not be complete without a Farewell Dinner, where we can talk and laugh about our adventures with new friends.

Day 12 – Lifetime memories

(Mon) – Sadly, after our last breakfast together, we depart for our homes. We will carry with us new friendships, lots of memories, inspirations and perhaps a suitcase full of fabric.
